Kevin Whately Discusses Season Six of "Inspector Lewis" And Lewis' Possible Retirement Posted: 15 Jun 2013 10:40 PM PDT Before the sixth season of "Inspector Lewis" on PBS' "Masterpiece Mystery!" series begins Sunday night, Kevin Whately, who stars as Detective Inspector Robbie Lewis, talked about the new programs, the evolution of Lewis' character and Lewis' possible retirement. "Inspector Lewis" is a spin-off of the earlier "Inspector Morse" series, in which Whately portrayed Morse's junior partner from 1987 to 2000; both shows are set in Oxford, England. |

Magnitude 6.0 quake hits Mexico, tremors felt in Mexico City Posted: 15 Jun 2013 10:45 PM PDT MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit Mexico on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said, and tremors were felt in Mexico City. There were no immediate reports of damage in the city, Mexico City mayor Miguel Angel Mancera said on Twitter, although there were some disruptions to the electricity supply. A Reuters witness said buildings shuddered in the city. The quake was 20 miles south of the central Mexican town of Santa Rosa Treinta, the USGS said. Were Xbox One E3 Demos Running On NVIDIA Hardware? It Doesn't Matter, And Here's Why Posted: 15 Jun 2013 03:11 PM PDT It wouldn't be E3 week (or any other week in the video game industry) without some controversy. The latest alleged nail in Microsoft's Xbox One coffin comes in the form of this image from CinemaBlend, showing an Xbox One demo running with a newer NVIDIA dedicated GPU. That's not entirely accurate; the game had actually crashed to a Windows 7 desktop. |

The Evil Within: A Return To Pure Survival Horror? Posted: 15 Jun 2013 09:13 PM PDT Recording was not allowed during the presentation of Bethesda Softworks' The Evil Within (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) at E3 2013. This is a bit of a tragedy because as with many survival horror titles, showing is much better than telling. Game developer Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) brings dark visions to life in this new title that looks to bring things back to the "pure" survival horror games of yesteryear on consoles, a genre that has recently experienced somewhat of a cult revival on PC thanks to titles like Amnesia: The Dark Descent. |
Tiny Brains Captures Casual and Core Audiences Posted: 15 Jun 2013 08:40 PM PDT We had a chance to take a close look at Spearhead Games' Tiny Brains (PC, PSN, PS4) at E3 2013. It's a physics-based co-operative action puzzler that feels like the evolution of the party game genre. Games like Mario Party provide the charm and the mini-games, but Tiny Brains somehow manages to provide an enjoyable experience for a wide variety of demographics. |
