OWNAGE! Bruce Willis To Sue Apple Over Right To Bequeath His iTunes Library Posted: 02 Sep 2012 04:36 PM PDT Willis' challenge to Apple raises an important issue, both about digital media in general and also about user's awareness of the terms and conditions of the sites they patronize. As with many other things in tech (privacy on Skype, for instance) it is more a matter of not correcting our misconceptions than engaging in outright deception |

If Premium Support is 'Fatal' for Medicare, Why is it Good Enough for Obamacare? Posted: 02 Sep 2012 03:38 PM PDT I've written about how President Obama's Medicare advertisements deliberately and egregiously misrepresent the Romney-Ryan plan for Medicare reform. Today, I want to talk about the wonkier critiques of that plan from leading liberal economists. The irony is that the very same wonks who criticize private insurance and premium support in the context of Medicare have endorsed the use of the same concepts in a law they enthusiastically support: Obamacare. |

Why Premier League Transfer Excesses Are Greatly Exaggerated Posted: 02 Sep 2012 02:28 PM PDT The European transfer window slammed shut on Friday. There was the usual frenzied action as many teams scrambled to move players on and to sign new recruits. Although there were exceptions, transfer spending throughout continental Europe was more tempered than that of the Barclay's Premier League in England. Bayern Munich spent $50M [...] |
