ADEN, Yemen (Reuters) - At least 10 soldiers and 11 suspected al Qaeda militants were killed in an attack on a military base in the southern Yemeni town of Shuqra in the province of Abyan on Friday, medical and military sources said. Militants first attacked the coastal base with an explosives-laden car, a medical source told Reuters. Moments later, more militants attacked the base from the sea, a military source said. ISTANBUL (Reuters) - The gas flow on a pipeline carrying Iranian natural gas to Turkey was halted due to an explosion in eastern Turkey late on Thursday, injuring 28 soldiers, Turkish energy officials said. The blast occurred in the area of Eleskirt, a town in Agri province in eastern Turkey, the officials said, on condition of anonymity. It was not clear what caused the blast, and when the gas flow will resume, they said. SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea issued its most strident warning in months on Friday when it threatened to open fire on South Korean territory if anti-Pyongyang leaflets were sent over from South Korean territory. It said that if leaflets were dropped on Monday a "merciless military strike by the Western Front will be put into practice without warning", according to state news agency KCNA.
