Pakistani, Afghan forces exchange fire along border Posted: 01 May 2013 10:51 PM PDT ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - One Afghan border policeman was killed and two Pakistani soldiers were wounded in an exchange of fire along the border late on Wednesday, officials from both countries said on Thursday. A Pakistani military source said the shooting lasted for more than two hours and was sparked by an attack on a Pakistani checkpost. The attack took place on Wednesday when four gunmen on motorcycles pulled up at the store in Pattani province, just 500 meters from a military checkpoint. A government taskforce will provide the assistance from May 6 in the form of loans with interest rates of 2 percent. Singh was arrested in Pakistan in 1991 and sentenced to death for spying and carrying out four bomb blasts that killed 14 people. His family says he is innocent. "He has succumbed to his wounds," said a hospital source.
