Suicide blast kills 12 near Kabul’s airport in Afghanistan

KABUL — As many as 12 people were killed near Kabul's airport Tuesday when a suicide car-bomber rammed into a mini-van full of aviation workers, police said.

The majority of victims were foreigners, said Kabul police official Gen. Mohammad Zahir. A spokesman for a Pakistan-based jihad group, Hizb-e-Islami, asserted responsibility for the blast and said it was to avenge a video that defames the Prophet Muhammad.
