MANILA (Reuters) - A typhoon hit the southern Philippines triggering flash floods and landslides that killed nearly 180 people and forced about 100,000 from their homes, government and army officials said Saturday.

SUNGAI PETANI, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- The opposition pact is fragile and cannot be sustained because the political parties are cooperating only due to their hatred for the Barisan Nasional, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today.
