I'm a big fan of  Sony's RX100 digital camera, the first pocket-sized compact camera to have a 1-inch sensor that does an incredible job in low light. Combined with an excellent Carl Zeiss lens, the camera produces almost SLR quality images, yet is small enough to put into a (large) pocket.
